In September 2020, my mom was diagnosed with triple negative metastatic breast cancer. She went through a long journey consisting of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy surgery, and radiation. Unfortunately even with those efforts, the cancer spread to her lung in September 2021. My mom is the strongest person I know and she fought as hard as she could but that wasn't enough. Nanette lost her battle and passed peacefully on November 6th, 2021, leaving us with Hope. 

March 26th of this year would have been Nanette's 53th birthday - I invite all who felt Nanette's love to join me in honoring her throughout this special year: to celebrate her, remember her, and cherish her forever. 

To celebrate my mom this Mother's Day, I will be running the Black Knight DONNA Mother's Day 5K in support of The DONNA Foundation. This organization provides financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer through the DONNA CareLine program. Join me in supporting the Foundation to continue to help families living with breast cancer meet their critical needs.
